This Privacy Policy explains how the University of Gold Coast ("UGC", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of applicants and account holders using our admissions portal (the "Portal"). By creating an account or submitting an application through the Portal, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

When you create an account and apply through the Portal, we collect:

Account details: name, email address, and phone number.
Application details: date of birth, nationality, address, country of residence, and your chosen programme, specialization, and intake cohort.
Education and employment history: qualifications, institutions attended, graduation year, employer, and role.
Documents you upload: passport photo, academic transcripts, certificates, identification documents, and your CV/resume.
Payment information: application fee payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Paystack. We receive confirmation of payment and a transaction reference, but we do not collect or store your card or mobile money details ourselves.

3. How We Use Your Information

To process and review your application and communicate admission decisions.
To create and secure your Portal account, including email verification of new accounts.
To process application fee payments and send payment confirmations.
To generate and send official documents, such as your admission letter, if approved.
To respond to enquiries submitted through our Contact page.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary: with Paystack to process application fee payments, and internally with UGC admissions and programme staff who need it to review and act on your application.

5. Data Retention

We retain application and account information for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward, to comply with our record-keeping obligations as an academic institution and to support any admissions appeals or enquiries.

6. Your Rights

You can review and update your application details from your Portal dashboard. To request a copy of your data, a correction, or account deletion, please contact us using the details below.
